Lum Legacy BJJ was built around one idea: that Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is worth doing, and worth doing well. The academy is located in Moorpark and serves students from across the Conejo and Simi Valleys. We run structured classes for adults and youth, keep the mat space clean, and take the instruction seriously. There’s no hype here — just consistent, quality training in a gym that feels like it means something.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu developed over decades through a direct lineage from Japanese judo into something distinctly its own — a system of ground control, positional strategy, and submission grappling that rewards intelligence over athleticism.

What makes it worth studying is that it works. Not in theory, but on the mat, against a resisting partner, every single day. That’s the standard we hold ourselves to.

MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR

COACH TY LUM

Coach Ty Lum (left side of picture) founded this academy because he believed Moorpark deserved a serious BJJ gym, one where the instruction is real and the community is worth being part of. He’s been on the mats long enough to know what good training looks like, and built this place around it.
